Westminster Dog Show 2014 Adds Three New Breeds

Westminster Dog Show 2014 taking place in New York on Feb 10 and Feb 11 is under way. Breeder Owner handler pro judge teacher and author Ms Betty Regina Leininger is selected to judge Best In Show. 138th Annual Westminster Kennel Club announced Betty will head a panel of 44 judges from 20 states, Canada and Ireland.

Three new breeds are added,.

Rat Terrier (terrier group) Beyond being a farm dog, Rat Terriers have proven themselves to be versatile, multipurpose breed with a playful, happy-go-lucky attitude.

Portuguese Podengo Pequeno (hound group)
Smallest of the Podengo familly, this active rabbit hunter has a history that goes back to antiquity. Still used today by avid hunstman. There are three sizes too. Grand, Medio and Pequeno.

Chinook (working group)
1920, New Hampshire, true American breed. 2009, Chinook named New Hampshire State Dog. Healthy and robust, Chinook makes a great family pet.
